Benediction Tasting Notes
2014 Cabernet Sauvignon
“The whole is greater than the part”. Densely compacted like a nautilus, the 2014 Benediction’s bouquet teases its greatness upon arrival, and then dives into a dark descent. Full-bodied with stunning fruit intensity and purity, the palate is immediately opulent and robust: displaying its bright plumage of blackberry, boisenberry, huckleberry and cassis, followed closely by tobacco, earth, sage and lavender. Overlayed, and hinting at its myriad sources, the wine steadily rises until its crescendo, covering the palate and promising enjoyment for years to come.
2014 Chardonnay
Rich and ripe, front loaded with golden delicious, tallow, and orange blossom, the Chardonnay picks up lemon zest and granny smith apple on the mid palate. Its richness constantly balanced out by acidity, the wine continuously struggles to break containment on the palate, threatening to overwhelm any single sense. Meticulous craftsmanship defies the wine to stay in any one place too long, dancing and evolving during its time in the glass and fervently embracing any food fortunate enough to be paired with it. A glassful of the blessings of the California Sun.
